The Sound of Chainsaws Heralds Spring in PA

The Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous, held annually in Ridgeway, PA., started as a backyard gathering of six chainsaw carvers. In 2000, this relatively small group of carvers took it to a whole new level. In 14 years, it has grown to the largest event of its kind and attracts chainsaw carvers and their fans from around the world.

The Rendezvous gives carvers the opportunity to share, sell, market and just feel good about who they are and what they do. To be able to measure the growth of the industry while moving the art form forward. To challenge their abilities and encourage their performance.

Green Travel Video

I don’t generally repost content from other sites, but this video is too cute to pass up. I frequently rely on public transportation when I travel. It’s often easier & cheaper, and everyone can site see along the way. Plus, it’s greener. Win-win all the way around.

Tom and I visited the Slovak Folk Crafts Shop after our recent trip to Pittsburgh. We were surprised and delighted to see the largest animated wood carving in the United States. The Jednota published my story on page 17 of the February 13, 2013 edition of the Jednota.
