Morey’s Piers is Going to the Dogs in Wildwood, NJ

Don’t forget one of your favorite family members this summer; take them with you to the Jersey Shore. Morey’s Piers is Going to the Dogs at their Raging Waters Water Park. On September 7, 2014 your pooch can paddle in the pools of Raging Waters Water Park at Morey’s Piers “Gone to the Dogs.” Your best friend can enjoy an evening swim from 5:00PM – 7:00PM (check in starts at 4:45pm) at Raging Waters Water Park, located at the rear of Morey’s Mariner’s Pier at Schellenger Ave. and the Boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ.

That evening, water bowls and free dog treats will be stationed throughout Raging Waters Water Park for dogs to recharge as they paddle around the river adventure or play in the fountain pool. A variety of activities are scheduled including a doggy swimsuit competition starting at 6:15 pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Wrecker’s Beach Grille.

To be admitted to this event you MUST bring the following:
Printed e-ticket for each guest and pooch
Completed release form
Proof of rabies vaccination

Please note that if you are missing any of the above items, you WILL NOT be granted access to this event.

No refunds will be given.

For the safety of our guests all dogs MUST be accompanied by a human and on a leash when not in the water. All 4 legged and 2 legged friends are $10 each with the proceeds benefitting the Wildwood Beach Dog Park.

For the first-time, Blue Palms Resort, located steps away from Mariner’s Pier and Raging Waters Water Park, is offering pet-friendly accommodations from September 5 through 9, 2014. The “Wildwood Unleashed” stay package, starts at $81 per night (Sunday & Monday), and includes a welcome “doggie bag” and pet-cleaning fee. Harlem Globetrotters Bring Four Games to Wildwood, NJ – August 6-9, 2014

With 88 years of performing under their belts, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters know something about thrilling millions of fans, all the while innovating the game in exciting new ways. Last year, the Globetrotters did something unparalleled in the history of sports and entertainment, letting fans vote on new rules to be used in actual games. It was so much fun, they are doing it again, and there are cool new rules to choose from on our 2014 “Fans Rule” World Tour.

You can get your chance to see the zaniness which is sure to result during their four new shows at the Wildwoods Convention Center from August 6-9, with games nightly at 7 p.m.

Learn to play like the Globetrotters at a special 2-hour Skills Clinic at the Convention Center. Designed for boys & girls ages 6-12, the clinic will be led by Globetrotter stars. Clinics take place every game day (Aug 6-9) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Participants do not need prior basketball experience. A spot in the clinic costs $49.99 and includes a voucher for one complimentary ticket to any of the four games in Wildwood (valued up to $45). Space is limited.

Family Fun at Absecon Lighthouse, Atlantic City, NJ

New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse (and the third tallest in the United States) awaits you at Pacific and Rhode Island Avenues in Atlantic City (walking distance from Showboat Casino).

The adventurous can make an amazing climb up 228 steps of the Absecon Lighthouse to the observation level and enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic City skyline.

The lighthouse’s recent multi-million dollar restoration also includes a stunning replica of the Lightkeeper’s dwelling, an educational museum, gift shop and expansive grounds. You’ll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857, in the original Oil House.

On “Wacky Wednesdays,” family fun is the order of the day as Absecon Lighthouse features themed stations of crafts and activities from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Kids can decorate a dinosaur egg, create their own superhero or villain, decorate a flower pot, create a popsicle stick sleigh ornament, make a paper-plate aquarium, make a crown or coat of arms, and design a mermaid or treasure map.

A climb to the top of the Lighthouse is $4 per child, ages 4 – 12. Adult supervision is required; adult admission to climb is $7.
