When we refer to a mother’s beloved child, we say he or she is “the apple of her eye.” When refer to a wholesome, down-to-earth, patriotic person, we refer to them as being as “American as apple pie. The apple holds a special place in American society, so it’s only fitting that there is The National Apple Harvest Festival.
Held during the first two full weekends in October, The National Apple Harvest Festival celebrates beautiful crafts, great music and wonderful food. The festival has something for everyone with hundreds of arts and crafts dealers, demonstrations, contests, food stands, and entertainment.
The festival is located in the heart of Pennsylvania Apple country, near historic Gettysburg, and is within a two hour drive of Washington DC, Baltimore MD, and Harrisburg PA.
