One of the things I most enjoy about running 10K events is the social aspect—I get a new t-shirt, I get to talk to other runners; there is often post-race food. Until recently, I hadn’t realized I could enjoy at least some of those things during the Wednesday Social Rides with the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition. This avid group of cyclists must be doing something right since this is the 22nd year of Wednesday Social Ride. Emphasis is on social; no headphones, intermediate pace of 12-14 mph. The SVBC supports all types of cycling in and around Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Virginia.
