October is National Dessert Month! Now, I’ve never needed and excuse to eat dessert, but a whole month designated to sweet treats just makes me happy. Devious marketers have filled the month with yummy celebrations.

National Caramel Custard Day (Oct. 3)

National Apple Betty Day (Oct. 5)

National Frappe Day (Oct. 7)

National Fluffernutter Day (Oct. 8)

National Angel Food Cake Day (Oct. 10)

National Dessert Day (Oct. 14)

National Chocolate Cupcake Day (Oct. 18)

National Brandied Fruit Day (Oct. 20)

National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day (Oct. 21)

U.K. National Apple Day (Oct. 21)

National Nut Day (Oct. 22)

National Boston Cream Pie Day (Oct. 23)

National Chocolate Day (Oct. 28)

National Candy Corn Day (Oct. 30)

National Caramel Apple Day (Oct. 31)

As if that isn’t enough, October is also:

Cookbook Month

Gourmet Adventures Month

National Apple Month

National Applejack Month

National Caramel Month

National Cookie Month

National Kitchen Month

National Popcorn Popping Month

To join in the celebrations, Tom & I, your MAD2Go team, will showcase some of the memorable desserts we’ve enjoyed while traveling. If possible, we’ll get the recipes from the Chefs and share them with you.

Happy noshing!

Tom and I visited Ulysses on Saturday, September 29, 2012, as part of Delaware Dines Out Week. While known for their extensive beer list, Ulysses serves up a pretty mean dessert in this dense sweet. It’s a sophisticated homage to filled cupcakes, with a dollop of white chocolate on the top and secret white filling in the center. YUM!
